Tuxpan
Tuxpan de Rodríguez Cano is a city and port in the northern Mexican state of Veracruz, in the region known as La Huasteca, 191 km south of Tampico, 60 km north of Poza Rica and 320 km from Mexico City. It is the head of the municipality of Tuxpan. It has a population, according to 2010 estimates, of approximately 143,000 inhabitants, called tuxpeños. The city is located on the banks of the Tuxpan River, 11 km from its mouth in the Gulf of Mexico. The use admits two forms of writing: "Tuxpan", which is more in agreement with the toponymy of Nahuatl origin, and "Túxpam". However, the official name of the municipality according to the official state gazette of January 20,2016, is "Tuxpan".
