The municipality of Mariano Escobedo is located in the central area of the State of Veracruz in the region called the Mountains, it is one of the suburbs of the city of Orizaba, therefore it has had a considerable urban growth. It is one of the 212 municipalities of the entity. It is located at coordinates 18°55 "north latitude and 97°08" west longitude, and has a height of 1,520 meters above sea level. The municipality consists of 47 localities in which 30,509 people live, is a municipality categorized as semi-urban. Some outstanding localities are: Loma Grande, Frijolillo, Texmalaca, Ocoxotla, among others. It also has important housing units such as: Palmira, Puerta del Sol and Puerta grande.
