Alto Lucero de Gutiérrez Barrios
The Municipality of Alto Lucero de Gutiérrez Barrios is one of the 212 municipalities in which the state of Veracruz is divided and forms part of the Capital Region. Its municipal head is the population of Alto Lucero which is located 35 kilometers from the state capital, the city of Xalapa and is the administrative and commercial center of the towns of the municipality. In the same municipality, the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Plant is located, which was built in the 1970s under a strong rejection of the local population.
