Miguel Alemán is a municipality located in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas and on the banks of the Rio Grande. According to the 2010 INEGI census, Miguel Alemán has a population of 19,997 inhabitants, although the area surrounding the municipality reaches 27,015 inhabitants. It is at an altitude of 92 meters above sea level. It is worth mentioning that it is a border area since it borders on the city of Rome, Texas.
The town of San Pedro de Roma was one of the first to be founded in this region, but until 1927, when the international bridge over the Rio Grande was built, it began to signify due to the push of its residents, until it came to acquire the category of city, head of the new municipality.
