San Luis Río Colorado
San Luis Río Colorado is a city and head of the homonymous municipality of the Mexican state of Sonora, located right between the sandy area of the Desert of Altar and the state of Baja California. Due to its extreme climate it is recognized by the National Meteorological Service of Mexico and the Conagua as the driest city in Mexico. The El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve and the Biosphere Reserve of El Alto are located within the municipal territory. Gulf of California and Colorado River delta, both declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
