Tanquián de Escobedo
Tanquián de Escobedo is one of the 58 municipalities that constitute the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí. It is located southeast of the state and approximately 349 kilometers from the city of San Luis Potosí. It has a territorial extension of 140.26 km². According to the II Population and Housing Count of 2005, the municipality has 9,364 inhabitants, of which 4,488 are men and 4,876 are women, whose name comes from the Huastec and is interpreted as: "Comfortable Place with Water". Of Escobedo, in honor of the general and governor of the state, Mariano Escobedo.
