Cerritos, founded with the name of San Juan de los Cerritos is a city located in the central area of the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí, Mexico. It is the municipal seat of the homonymous municipality. It was for a period also capital of the territory that came to understand the current municipality of La Carbonera. The patron saint of the town is San Juan Bautista. The town was founded in 1826 by order of the State Congress. The city. It covers 51 towns and ranches. According to the census of 2010, the town has 21,394 inhabitants, therefore it has had a great growth since 2002.
Work is being done on the paving of the recent Carretera de Río Verde to State Highway 57, as well as the foundation of a university. In the population the Catholic religion predominates as in all of Mexico, in the same way there are several congregations in the municipality of different branches of Christianity.
