Queréndaro is one of the 113 municipalities that make up the state of Michoacán, the word Queréndaro is of Chichimeca origin and means "place of crags", the name derived from the large rock that is in the municipality and is known by its inhabitants as "La Peña Rajada", in it there is a cave in which there are cave paintings that date back to pre-Hispanic times. It is a municipality dedicated to agriculture, fishing, livestock and bread making, in the field farmer, in the municipality is produced: corn, wheat, sorghum, chili, beans, barley, alfalfa, chickpea, among others.
Currently it is recognized regionally, for its fair of Chile, which is the main celebration of the municipality, in which the foundation of this town is celebrated, in this festival, cultural, sports and gastronomic representations are made.
