Apatzingán de la Constitución is a Mexican city located in the state of Michoacán de Ocampo. This was founded in 1617 by Franciscans and Augustinians and was a town until 1883 that was officially a city. It is the head of the municipality of Apatzingán and is located in the Tierra Caliente of the state. The city has a population of 11 inhabitants, according to data from the last Population and Housing Census of INEGI in 2024. The Apatzingán region produces large quantities of lemon, papaya, grapefruit, carambolo, etc.
This being a great boost to the economy of the city, it is very important to produce citrus fruits and other fruits and vegetables since most of these are exported abroad, the climate of the city is hot with little rain in summer is well known Apatzingán for its hot climate which there are great tourist attractions such as spas, and extreme sports activities and others. In Apatzingán the first Mexican and Latin American constitution was signed on October 22,1814, by Mr. José María Morelos y Pavón.
