Tecalitlán
Tecalitlán is a municipality and population of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is located in the Southeast Region of the state. Its name comes from Nahuatl and means "next to the stone houses", its territorial extension is 1326.44 km2. According to the II Population and Housing Count, the municipality has 16,042 inhabitants and they are mainly dedicated to the primary sector. It is located in the heart of the region where mariachi music was developed, the most famous exponent of that genre is Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.
