San Martín Hidalgo
San Martín Hidalgo is a town and municipality in the Lagunas Region of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is located approximately 64 km southwest of Guadalajara. According to the II Population and Housing Count of 2005, the municipality had 24,127 inhabitants. In pre-Hispanic times it was called Huitzquilic, which is interpreted as "Place of Thistles". However, in 1883 it acquired its current name Its territorial extension is 324.57 km² and the population is mainly dedicated to the tertiary sector.
