Lagos de Moreno is a municipality and a city located in the High North Region, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The city was declared a Cultural Patrimony of the Nation - Historical Monuments Zone, by the National Institute of Anthropology and History in 1989. Its historic center and bridge were named Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by Unesco, on August 1,2010 to form part of the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro On November 16,2012 the city is named "Magic Town". On August 11,2013 it is named capital of the Quarter Horse in Mexico. It limits to the north with the state of Aguascalientes. To the northeast with the municipality of Ojuelos. To the southwest with San Juan de los Lagos.
To the south with San Antonio Union. To the west with Encarnación de Díaz, and to the southeast with the state of Guanajuato, specifically with the "ZML" León Metropolitan Area. At the same time, it is part of the Bajío macro region.
