Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos
Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos is a municipality in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is located 30 kilometers from the state capital: Guadalajara. And it is considered within the municipalities that make up the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara. There are several interpretations or meanings of the word Ixtlahuacán. The first one explains that this word is composed of two different words "ixtla" from Ixtlacateotl, which was the prevailing deity at that time and "huacan" from Chimalhuacan, which was the name of this entire extensive region. Other interpretations given to the name are "place from where you can see far","plain with water" and "flat places".
