La Barca
La Barca is a municipality and population of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is located in the eastern part of the state, in the Ciénega Region. Formerly it was called "Chicnahuatenco" or Chie. Its territorial extension is 379.48 km2. According to the II Population and Housing Count, the municipality has 70,990 inhabitants and is mainly dedicated to the tertiary sector. It is a municipality famous in the region for its cream, cheeses and Birria Tatemada La Barca style, as well as its tamarind candies and milk.
