The municipality of Tulancingo de Bravo is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo in Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Tulancingo. The municipality is located southeast of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 20°03 'and 20°13' north latitude. The meridians 98°14 'and 98°31' west longitude. With an altitude between 2100 and 2700 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 217.42 km2, and represents 1.04% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as Valle de Tulancingo. It borders to the north with the municipalities of Acatlán, Metepec and Acaxochitlán. To the east with the municipalities of Acaxochitlán and Cuautepec de Hinojosa.
To the south with the municipalities of Cuautepec de Hinojosa, Santiago Tulantepec of Lugo Guerrero and Singuilucan and to the west with the municipalities of Singuilucan and Acatlán. Tulancingo de Bravo is the central municipality of the metropolitan area of Tulancingo, also composed of the municipalities of Cuautepec de Hinojosa and Santiago Tulantepec de Lugo Guerrero.
