The municipality of Tula de Allende is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo in Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Tula de Allende. The municipality is located to the south west of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 19°55 'and 20°11' north latitude. The meridians 99°15 'and 99°32' west longitude. With an altitude between 2100 and 2700 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 336.11 km2, and represents 1.61% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as Valle del Mezquital. It borders to the north with the municipalities of Chapantongo, Tepetitlán and Tezontepec de Aldama. To the east with Tezontepec de Aldama, Tlaxcoapan, Atitalaquia and Atotonilco de Tula.
To the south with the municipality of Tepeji del Río de Ocampo and to the west with the state of Mexico. Tula de Allende is the central municipality of the metropolitan area of Tula, also composed of the municipalities of Atitalaquia, Atotonilco de Tula, Tlahuelilpan and Tlaxcoapan.
