The municipality of Tezontepec de Aldama is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo in Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Tezontepec de Aldama. The municipality is located to the west of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 20°05 'and 20°16' north latitude. The meridians 99°12 'and 99°22' west longitude. With an altitude between 2000 and 2800 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 120.8 km2, and represents 0.78% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as Valle del Mezquital. It borders to the north with the municipalities of Tepetitlán, Chapulhuacán, Chilcuautla and Mixquiahuala de Juárez. To the east with the municipalities of Mixquiahuala de Juárez and Tlahuelilpan.
To the south with the municipalities of Tlaxcoapan and Tula de Allende. To the west with the municipalities of Tula de Allende and Tepetitlán.
