It borders to the north with the state of Veracruz of Ignacio de la Llave and the municipality of Huehuetla. To the east with the municipality of Huehuetla.
To the south with the municipalities of Huehuetla, Tenango de Doria and Metepec. To the west with the municipality of Agua Blanca de Iturbide and the state of Veracruz by Ignacio de la Llave.
