The municipality of Mineral de la Reforma is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Pachuquilla. The municipality is located to the center of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 19°58 'and 20°09' of north latitude. The meridians 98°39 'and 98°47' west longitude. With an altitude between 2400 and 2900 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 115.24 km2, and represents 0.55% of the state's surface, within the geographic region known as Comarca Minera. It borders to the north with the municipalities of Pachuca de Soto and Mineral del Monte. To the east with the municipalities of Mineral del Monte and Epazoyucan.
To the south with the municipalities of Epazoyucan and Zempoala. To the west with the municipalities of Zempoala and Pachuca de Soto. Mineral de la Reforma is considered within the metropolitan municipalities of the metropolitan area of Pachuca, also integrated by the municipalities of Epazoyucan, Pachuca de Soto, Mineral del Monte, San Agustín Tlaxiaca, Zapotlán de Juárez and Zempoala, being Pachuca de Soto the municipality central.
