The municipality of Mixquiahuala de Juárez is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Mixquiahuala. The municipality is located at the center of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 20°09 'and 20°19' north latitude. The meridians 99°06 'and 99°19' of west longitude. With an altitude between 1800 and 2600 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 114.79 km2, and represents 0.55% of the surface area of the state, within the geographical region known as the Mezquital Valley. It borders to the north with the municipalities of Chilcuautla, Progreso de Obregón and San Salvador. To the east with the municipalities of San Salvador, Francisco I. Madero and Ajacuba.
To the south with the municipalities of Ajacuba, Tetepango, Tlahuelilpan and Tezontepec de Aldama. To the west with Tezontepec de Aldama and Chilcuautla.
