The municipality of Huichapan is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Huichapan. The municipality is located to the west of the Hidalgo territory between the parallels 20°16 'and 20°31' north latitude. The meridians 99°29 'and 99°52' west longitude. With an altitude between 1800 and 3000 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 660.71 km2, and represents 3.17% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as the Mezquital Valley. It adjoins to the north with the municipality of Tecozautla. To the east with the municipalities of Tecozautla, Alfajayucan and Chapantongo. To the south with the municipalities of Chapantongo and Nopala de Villagrán.
