The municipality of Apan is one of the eighty-four municipalities that make up the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. Whose municipal seat is the town of Apan. With an altitude between 2500 and 3000 meters above sea level, this municipality has an area of 322.22 km2, and represents 1.55% of the state's surface, within the geographical region known as the Pulquera Plateau. It borders to the north with the municipalities of Tepeapulco, Cuautepec de Hinojosa and the municipality of Chignahuapan of the state of Puebla. To the east with the state of Puebla and the Almoloya. To the south with the state of Tlaxcala.
