Pueblo Nuevo
The Municipality of Pueblo Nuevo is one of the 39 municipalities that make up the Mexican state of Durango located to the west and located in the sierras. The name "New Town" was given as a result of the emigration of the group of settlers who left Real de Minas in San Diego del Río, to the place where they arrived, benevolent for its climate and full of local fruits and criollas. There were settlements of Tepehuan Indians who planted sugar cane, so the place was also called "Pueblo de Cañas".
