Jorge Basadre
The province of Jorge Basadre is one of the four that make up the department of Tacna in southern Peru. It limits to the North with the province of Ilo of the department of Moquegua, to the East with the province of Candarave, to the South with the province of Tacna and to the West with the Pacific Ocean. In the province of Jorge Basadre is the Toquepala mine, the main metallurgical center of the department of Tacna and one of the most important copper mines in the country. Its capital is the city of Locumba.
