Escuintla
Escuintla is a Mexican municipality located in the south of the Mexican state of Chiapas. Its municipal head is of the same name. It is located in the limits of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas and the Coastal Plain of the Pacific, predominantly mountainous terrain. The place name comes from the Nahuatl Itzcuintla, which means "place of dogs". Its limits are to the north with the municipality of Siltepec, to the east, with Motozintla and Huixtla, to the south with Villa Comaltitlán and Acapetahua and to the west with the municipality of Acacoyagua, in the Soconusco region.
