El Llano
El Llano is one of the most recently created municipalities in the state of Aguascalientes. Its municipal head is the town of Palo Alto. It is located to the east of the state and the relief of this municipality is flat as its name indicates, being limited by hills to the east in the state boundary with Jalisco and the west in adjoining the municipality of Aguascalientes, the Sierra de Tepezalá to the north and the Cerro de los Gallos and San Bartolo to the south. Fruits are cultivated, there is agricultural development, especially asnal and wool. Mining activity is now in decline. For the year 2011 there were 19 242 inhabitants.
