Sanpete County
Sanpete is a county in the state of Utah, United States. According to the 2000 census the population was 22,763 inhabitants. It is estimated that in 2005 there were 24,044 inhabitants. It probably gets its name from the Indian chief of the Ute tribe called San Pitch, which was transformed into Sanpete. Its capital is Manti and its largest city Ephraim.
