Finney County
Finney County is a county in the US state of Kansas. At the 2000 census the county had a population of 40,523 inhabitants. It is part of the micropolitan area of Garden City. The county seat is Garden City. The county was formed on February 22,1883 from the merger of Buffalo and Sequoyah counties. The new county was named in honor of David Wesley Finney, who was Vice Governor of Kansas at the time.
