Pima County is located in the center-south of the US state of Arizona. It receives its name from the Pima ethnic group that originally inhabited its territory. According to the Census Bureau of the United States, in 2006 it has an estimated population of 1,000,000. The county seat, Tucson, is where most of the population is concentrated. The county of Pima includes in its territory part of the Tohono O'odham Nation and the whole of the San Xavier Indian Reservation, the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the Ironwood Forest National Monument and the Saguaro National Park.
