Waupaca County
Waupaca County, founded in 1851, is one of 72 counties of the US state of Wisconsin. In the year 2000, the county had a population of 51,731 inhabitants and a population density of 27 people per km². The county seat is Waupaca. The county is named after the word wau-pa-ka-ho-nak, a Menominee word meaning "white sand bottom" or "brave young hero".
