Knox County
Knox County is a county of the State of Maine. In the year 2000, its population was 39,618 inhabitants. The county seat is located in Rockland. The name of the region comes in honor of Henry Knox, General of the War of Independence and Secretary of War who resided in the county from 1795 until his death in 1806. The county was founded in 1860.
