Kendall County
Kendall County is a county in the US state of Illinois. At the 2000 census the county had a population of 54,544 inhabitants. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. According to estimates from the Census Bureau, the county's population was 103,460 in July 2008, making it the fastest growing county in the United States between 2000 and 2008. The county seat is Yorkville. The county was formed in 1841 from portions of the counties of Kane and LaSalle. It was named in honor of Amos Kendall, the eighth director of the United States Postal Service.
