Botetourt County
Botetourt County is a county in the US state of Virginia. In the 2000 census the county had a population of 30,496 inhabitants. It is part of the metropolitan area of Roanoke. The county seat is Fincastle. The county was formed in 1770 from a portion of Augusta County. It was named in honor of Norborne Berkeley, 4th Baron Botetourt, who was colonial governor of Virginia between 1768 and 1770.
