Denton County
Denton County is a county located in the state of Texas, United States. In 2000 the population was 432,976 inhabitants but it is estimated that for 2006 it had 584,238 inhabitants. The headquarters is located in the city of Denton. This county is part of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex and is located north of Dallas County and Tarrant County. Denton County owes its name to John B. Denton, a pastor, lawyer and soldier who died during a raid on a Native American camp.
