Jasper County
Jasper County, founded in 1912, is one of the 46 counties of the US state of South Carolina. In the year 2000 it had a population of 28,818 inhabitants with a population density of 12 people per km² The county seat is Ridgeland. Jasper was one of the poorest counties in the state. The recent development from 2000 has given the new residents of the county, the expansion of business opportunities, and a richer tax base.
