Anne Arundel County
Anne Arundel County is a county located in the US state of Maryland. For the year 2000, its population was 489,656 inhabitants. The estimated population for 2003 was 506,620 inhabitants. It received its name in honor to Anne Arundell, member of the old family of the Arundells in Cornwall, England and wife of Cæcilius Calvert, second baron of Baltimore. The county seat is Annapolis, which is also the state capital. The county is part of the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area.
