Bullitt County
Bullitt County is a county in the US state of Kentucky. In the 2000 census the county had a population of 61,236 inhabitants. It is part of the Louisville metropolitan area. The county seat is Shepherdsville. The county was formed on January 1,1797 from portions of Jefferson and Nelson counties. It was named in honor of Alexander Scott Bullitt, the first Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky.
