Allen County
The county of Allen or in English Allen County, founded in 1815, is a county of the US state of Kentucky. In the year 2000 it had a population of 17,800 inhabitants. The county seat is Scottsville. The county is named after Colonel John Allen, who was assassinated in the Battle of Frenchtown, Michigan, during the War of 1812. It was formed in 1815 from places in the Barren counties of Warren.
