Albardón is a department of the province of San Juan, located to the south center of the same, approximately in the center of the region of Cuyo, it occupies the northern sector of the Tulum Valley approximately to the center west of Argentina. This department has an area of 945 km², where a desert mountain landscape develops to the north and northwest, while to the east and south, a flat relief prevails, concentrating there, precisely in the southern area, more than 20,000 inhabitants. Albardón is supported economically, in a majority way through the development of agro-industrial, mining and tertiary activities. It is an important wine production center, mainly of table.
In addition there is production of food for preserves, fundamentally linked with the grape for fresh consumption and raisins.
