Deseado is a department in the province of Santa Cruz. It is a department rich in gas, gold, silver, fishing and petroleum, it is bordered to the west by the Lake Buenos Aires Department and to the south by the Magallanes department, to the east it has an extensive coast on the Atlantic Ocean and to the north it borders the province of Chubut Its name comes from the Deseado River, which crosses it from west to east.
