Diamante is a department of the province of Entre Ríos in the Argentine Republic. It is the third smallest in the province with an area of 2774 km² and the eighth least populated, with 46 361 inhabitants according to 2010 census. It is bordered on the west by the province of Santa Fe, on the north by the department of Paraná, on the south by the Victoria department and to the east with the department Nogoyá.
According to the methodology used by the INDEC for the 2010 census, the Diamante department comprised 18 locations: Brazilian Village, La Virgen Place, Grapschental Village, Protestant Village, Salto Village, General Alvear, San Francisco Village, Spatzenkutter Village, Valle María Village, Diamante, Camps Station, General Racedo or El Carmen, General Ramírez, Colonia Ensayo, La Juanita, La Jaula, Puerto Las Cuevas, Libertador San Martín, Grapschental Village, La Juanita, and La Jaula, were not considered as locations in the censuses of 1991 and 2001, while General Alvear, and Paraje La Virgen were not in 1991.
