San Cristóbal is a city in the San Cristóbal department, in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located 179 km north of the capital city Santa Fe, by the national routes 11 and 4 provincial. It is the head of the homonymous Department and its most important city. It is crossed by provincial routes nros.4 -with destination to the city of Santa Fe to the south and Tostado to the north-, 13 -with destination to the city of Rafaela- and 39 -which communicates with Governor Crespo and national route No.11 to the east and Arrufó and Morteros to the west. It is also linked to the city of San Justo by the provincial route no.2.
From there, it is argued that it occupies a strategic place for the North, not only provincial but also for the relocation, mainly, of primary production. Although it has suffered a great blow when the Railway Workshops were closed -their main source of work - and in which 1000 workers came to work in times of splendor, gradually it has been recovering from the agricultural-livestock production and the push given by small and medium enterprises. Currently it has a steady and constant growth to the point that the industrial park of the city is in the process of being concreted. For its part, it has 12 neighborhoods, many of which have grown enormously thanks to housing plans.
