San Martín is a department of the province of San Juan, located to the south center of the same, approximately in the center of the region of Cuyo, in northeastern sector of the Valley of Tulúm approximately to the western center of Argentina. This department has an area of 435 km², where a mountain landscape develops to the east and another, to the west, with almost no slope and very few orographic accidents, concentrating there more than 10,000 inhabitants, supported economically, mostly in activities agricultural, being the cultivation of the vine the one that prevails like monoculture, although also olives, vegetables and fruits are produced.
In the same way it is an important center of Argentine wine production, whose elaboration of both table and high-end wines have a very notable trajectory and prestige. San Martín has stood out for being part of the Wine Routes of San Juan and the route of religious tourism in that province, since here is the Sanctuary of Ceferino Namuncurá.
