Cantón Alausí
Alausí is a canton of the Province of Chimborazo in Ecuador. It is situated at an average altitude of 2,340 meters above sea level. The lowest level of the canton is 1,225 meters above sea level, in the Huigra parish and the largest is 3,340 meters above sea level in Achupallas. It has a surface area of 1,707 km2. The average temperature is 14 to 15°C. Alausí is 97 km from Riobamba, in a small valley at the foot of the Gampala hill, in the depression in which the Chanchán river is located.
