Departamento de General Alvear
General Alvear is a department of the province of Corrientes, in the northeast of Argentina, which occupies 1833 km² in the northeast region of the province. It limits to the north and this with the department of Santo Tomé. To the west with that of San Martín. And to the south with the Federative Republic of Brazil, from which it is separated by the Uruguay River. The head of the department is the city of Alvear, which concentrates most of the 7926 inhabitants of the department, according to the 2010 National Census.
