Tala is a department of the province of Entre Ríos in the Argentine Republic. It is the second smallest in the province with an area of 2663 km² and the fifth least populated, with 25 665 inhabitants according to the 2010 census. It is bordered on the west by the department of Nogoyá, on the north by the department of Villaguay, on the south by the department Gualeguay and to the east with the departments of Uruguay and Gualeguaychú. According to the methodology used by the INDEC for the 2001 and 2010 censuses, the Tala department comprised 10 localities: Altamirano Sur, Durazno, Arroyo Clé Station or José V.
Morand, Governor Echagüe, Governor Mansilla, Governor Sola, Guardamonte, Las Guachas, Maciá, Rosario del Tala, Las Guachas and Altamirano Sur had not been considered as locations in the 1991 census.
