North East Lincolnshire is a unitary authority in the Yorkshire and Humber region of England, bordering on the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire and the administrative county of Lincolnshire. These three administrative units form the ceremonial county of Lincolnshire. North East Lincolnshire was created from the boroughs of Cleethorpes and Great Grimsby on April 1,1996 with the abolition of Humberside. Historically, it was part of the Kingdom of Lindsey.
