East Yorkshire is one of the forty-seven counties of England, United Kingdom, with capital in Beverley. Located in the Yorkshire and Humber region it borders to the west and north with North Yorkshire, to the east with the North Sea, and to the south with Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire For ceremonial matters, the county includes the city of Kingston-upon -Hull, better known as Hull. It occupies part of the historic county of Yorkshire. The name also corresponds to one of the historical divisions of the county and was the name of an administrative county that operated from 1888 to 1974.
Apart from Hull, the rest of the northern area of what Humberside was now belongs to the authoritarian unit of East Yorkshire, which corresponds to the districts of Beverley, East Yorkshire and Holderness as well as the northern part of Boothferry. The east zone corresponds to the plain of Holderness, the western part to the Yorkshire Wolds.
