East Sussex
East Sussex or East Sussex is one of the forty-seven counties of England, United Kingdom, with capital in Lewes. Located in the East, it borders Kent to the north, the English Channel to the east and south, West Sussex to the west and Surrey to the northwest. The former kingdom of Sussex was divided into the East and West administrative regions, with independent county councils in 1888. The county seat was established in Lewes. In the new county of East Sussex there are three administratively independent districts: Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.
