Saquisilí
The Saquisilí canton is located in the province of Cotopaxi, central highlands of Ecuador. The canton is located between the elevations 2,900 and 4,200 meters above sea level. The average temperature is 12°C.65% of the population is indigenous and, 35% mestizo population. The Canton Saquisilí was founded on October 18,1943. According to the Integrated System of Social Indicators of Ecuador, SIISE, poverty for unsatisfied basic needs, reaches 84.16% of the total population of the canton. The economically active population reaches 8,279 inhabitants. The city of Saquisilí is part of the conurbation called La Gran Latacunga or LGL, made up of urban areas and parishes close to it.
